Much has changed since 1950, and even since 1986, when my pharmacist-father, Harold Johnston and I purchased the pharmacy. We offer experienced pharmacists and staff who are trained in medication therapy management and disease state management. Many medications to meet special needs are not available in pre-made preparations, and must be custom prepared for patients. Since 1997 our pharmacists have been compounding specialized medications to meet the needs of people—and their pets—here in southern West Virginia. Our staff works with patients who have complex or multiple medication regimens. We package their medications specially to help them avoid missed doses and costly medication errors. Our staff includes a dietitian who is also a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and is available for consultation for patients with diabetes and other conditions requiring dietary management.
